Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

At PassSafer, privacy is not just a feature – it is our core foundation. This Privacy Policy describes how the PassSafer browser extension and desktop application handle your data.

1. Zero Data Collection

PassSafer is designed to operate completely offline. We do not collect, store, transmit, upload, or share any personal information, usernames, passwords, files, or browsing histories. Your credentials and sensitive data are saved locally, encrypted strictly on your own device.

2. Local Communication (Native Messaging)

The PassSafer browser extension communicates exclusively with the PassSafer desktop application on the same machine via secure local Inter-Process Communication (Native Messaging). All data exchange remains strictly inside your local operating system. No database syncs or background operations ever connect to external cloud servers.

3. Permissions Disclosures

To perform its offline credentials manager functions, the browser extension utilizes the following permissions:

Additionally, the extension utilizes content scripts that execute on all websites (<all_urls>). This is necessary to automatically detect username and password input fields and dynamically inject the autofill icon and dropdown, allowing you to securely log in to any website.

4. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect modifications in our security safeguards or extension updates. Any changes will be published here with an updated revision date.
